“Perfume is the poetry of the senses, capturing emotions that words cannot.”
Kritosh Fragrances

The Legacy of Kritosh: Born in Bhopal and Flourished in Fragrance

Since 1978, in the heart of Bhopal, Kritosh has stood not as a brand, but a living legacy of scent and soul. Founded by Mr. Shrikrishna, a humble visionary with a passion for purity, Kritosh began its journey on a cycle, with a leather bag filled not just with attars, but with faith, tradition, and dreams.

What started in the busy streets of Bhopal has grown into a reputation linked with elegance, craftsmanship, and authenticity. For over four decades, Kritosh has been committed to the ancient art of attar-making, preserving its roots while adding modern finesse.

What is Attar?

Unlike synthetic perfumes, attars are natural oil-based fragrances, traditionally made using flowers, herbs, spices, woods, and resins. They are alcohol-free, long-lasting, and are often used in religious rituals, personal care, and aromatherapy.

Attar isn’t just a fragrance—it’s an emotion, a memory, a cultural symbol.

How is Attar Made?

The Traditional Art That Takes Months

At Kritosh, making attar is a sacred process that blends patience, purity, and passion. Here’s a look into the stages:

1. Sourcing Natural Ingredients

It begins with carefully selecting the finest raw materials—jasmine, rose, vetiver, sandalwood, herbs, spices, and more. We partner with trusted farms and foragers to ensure purity at the source.

2. Deg & Bhapka Distillation

In the age-old method called hydro-distillation, flowers and herbs are placed in copper vessels (deg), and heated gently over fire. The steam carries the aromatic oils, which pass through bamboo pipes into another vessel (bhapka) containing base oil like sandalwood oil.

This process can run for 15–30 days, sometimes more—monitoring temperature and pressure manually, every hour of every day.

3. Natural Aging

Once the distillation is complete, the attar is stored in cool, dark spaces to age naturally for 3 to 6 months. This aging process enhances the depth, richness, and harmony of the scent.

4. Blending and Bottling

The matured attars are hand-blended using Kritosh’s closely-guarded family recipes. No artificial fixatives, no shortcuts. Each bottle is then poured and sealed by hand, with love and reverence.

Kritosh Today – Fragrance Meets Emotion

Each Kritosh attar is a living story—a blend of generations-old wisdom and modern artistry. Whether it’s ZIMY ONE’s graceful charm, K7’s mysterious depth, or GF CHIYO’s blooming brightness, every attar carries a soul of its own.

Kritosh is more than a scent.
It’s a feeling that lingers.
It’s a tradition you wear.
It’s Bhopal’s fragrance, bottled for the world.
